LIFE SUCKS; BUT THEN YOU DIE!

EVEN FOR THE BELIEVER, LIFE SUCKS

"And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" (Gen. 3:17-19).

"Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble" (Job 14:1).

"For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun?  For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity" (Eccl. 2:22-23).

"In the world ye shall have tribulation" (Jn. 16:33).

"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Tim. 3:12-13).

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.  For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (Jam. 4:14).

BUT THEN, PRAISE GOD, YOU DIE

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him" (Job. 13:15).

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints" (Ps. 116:15).

"By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh" (Heb. 11:4).

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (Jn. 14:3).

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (Jn. 11:25).

"And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with Me in paradise" (Lk. 23:43).

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" (2 Cor. 5:8).

1 Corinthians 2:9!
