MATTHEW ON THE LITERAL FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY

There are hundreds of Old Testament prophecies concerning Christ's two Advents, or Comings.  The Gospel of Matthew is primarily focused upon those which pertain to His First Coming as the Lamb of God, to die for the sins of mankind, to be buried, and to be raised again (1 Cor. 15:3-4).  Hence, his book is called the Gospel of Matthew.  Matthew used some form of the word "fulfill," at least eightteen times to describe the LITERAL FULFILLMENT he observed during Christ's life:

Mt. 1:22-23 "Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with Child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
Mt. 2:15 "And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called My Son."
Mt. 2:17-18 "Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not."
Mt. 2:23 "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene."
Mt. 3:14-15 "But John forbad Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest Thou to me?  And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered Him."
Mt. 4:13-16 "And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum...that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; The people which sat in darkness saw great Light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death Light is sprung up."
Mt. 5:17-18 "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled."
Mt. 8:17 "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses."
Mt. 12:17-18 "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Behold My servant, whom I have chosen; My Beloved, in whom My soul is well pleased: I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall shew judgment to the Gentiles."
Mt. 13:14 "And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive."
Mt. 13:35 "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world."
Mt. 21:4-5 "All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass."
Mt. 24:34 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
Mt. 26:54-56 "But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?  In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take Me?  I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on Me.  But all this was done, that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook Him, and fled."
Mt. 27:9-10 "Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; and gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me."
Mt. 27:35 "And they crucified Him, and parted His garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted My garments among them, and upon My vesture did they cast lots."

All prophecies concerning Christ's two Advents, will be LITERALLY FULFILLED!
