WHY WAIT - JOIN IN TODAY!

Yesterday, I identified the true Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible.  He is Creator, Savior, King of kings, and Lord of lords.  In an earlier post, I shared seven people who worshipped Jesus during His life, as revealed in the Gospel of Matthew:  the Magi, the leper, a Jewish leader, those on a sinking ship, a concerned mother, and finally, the Apostle Thomas (Mt. 2:11; 8:2; 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; and 28:17).

Today, I want to focus upon the worship Jesus gets in heaven, while He awaits the Father to send Him back to rule in His earthly kingdom (Rev. 20:1-7).  On three occasions in Revelation, Jesus is worshipped by "the four and twenty elders" (7:11; 11:16; 19:4).  Most Bible students believer these elders are the patriarchal heads of the twelve tribes of Israel, and the twelve apostles, but the Word does not specify exactly who they are.  There may be a hint to their identity, point to "the twelve gates and the twelve foundations" of the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:12, 14).

Today, we can join in with those elders and the angels in heaven, by worshipping Jesus during this life.  Picture yourself in His presence, and "join in":

"And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.  And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou was slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.  And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.  And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.  And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that lives for ever and ever" (Rev. 5:8-14)!
